Choosing A Location For Your Branding Session

Sep 8, 2023

Happy almost-Fall everyone… & even more exciting, I’m back with another BLOG! I promise, you’ll enjoy this one. 🙂

Are you gearing up for or contemplating a branding session and feeling overwhelmed by the decision of where to shoot? As a photographer, I understand that selecting the right location can significantly impact the outcome of your session! It’s not just about finding a beautiful spot; it’s about aligning the setting with your brand, vision, and messaging.

What’s better timing for a new branding session with me than NOW, as fall is starting to creep in. I absolutely LOVE when the fall colors start to make their way into decor, branding, & nature. They can bring a festive touch to your branding shoots! Read on for a few tips on how to find the perfect location for your branding session…

Determine Your Target Audience

The first step is to start scouting locations, and take the time to understand what you want your brand to portray thoroughly.

What values does it represent? What emotions should the images evoke? Is the brand modern and urban or natural and rustic? Knowing these key aspects will guide your location search! Be sure to take into account who you’re trying to reach with your branding. The location should resonate with the preferences and interests of your target audience!

For example, a trendy downtown cafe might be perfect for a young, urban audience, while a serene park could be more fitting for a wellness brand targeting a health-conscious clientele.

Now it’s Time To Adress HOW You Want Your Branding Images To Look

When deciding on a location for your photo branding session, it is CRUCIAL to evaluate the logistical aspects of EACH potential spot! Wouldn’t you hate to the find PERFECT spot only to be disappointed by the lack of parking or strangers in the background of every picture?!

Evaluate factors such as accessibility, parking options, and permits required to shoot at certain venues. Be sure that the chosen location offers enough space to accommodate your team, equipment, and potential props!

Don’t forget to examine lighting conditions at different times of the day to determine when the venue will showcase its BEST features. Consider weather patterns in the area during the time of your shoot and have backup options just in case unforeseen circumstances arise, and that is SURE to happen at some point! 😉

That’s all for today folks… Let’s shoot together this Fall 🙂
